Carton and Pallet Packaging
1.How are cylinders engraved?
Gravure cylinders are made by copper-plating a finely milled steel cylinder, then etching a recessed image into the copper plating. Etching is done using either a diamond-stylus or laser. The depth, shape, size, and angle of the recessed are closely controlled to give the desired result on press.Etched cylinders are then chrom-plated to add wear-resistance.
2.How long to cylinders last, and do 1 have to pay again if they wear out?
Cylinders typically last about 20,000,000 revolutions and you never have to pay to have owrn cylinder replaced unless
your design is changed.
3. How much does the cylinder cost?
The cylinders charges are $105~175 per color.Which means each cylinder is for each color .So, if it is a 8 color design then it will be total of 8 cylinders.
4. Can cylinders be shared if there is a master design?
Yes, of course.lf there is a master design for the background, we just have to make the cylinders for other spot color for different SKU's.
